Designer Profile

We are pleased to profile a local jewelry designer whose fabulous line Fawbushs has carried for many years, Teresa Goodall. Teresa is a self taught jewelry designer raised in rural Minnesota. Her parents encouraged her creative interests from an early age. Teresa’s father had vast acres of salvaged cars, she would go through the old cars seeking treasures to be used in her early jewelry creations. Formal training at the University of Minnesota’s design department was cut short by her desire to go into business for herself.  The first wholesale line was offered to retailers in the spring of 1983.

Teresa Goodall designs are knotted wrapped and made to order by a small talented crew of artisans in Minneapolis.  Using color combinations foun in nature, Teresa creates accessories that work with the casual soft dressing of today.  A floral garden, to an ocean paradise…a calming sunset, to the enchanted north woods: colors are layered and blended to make jewelry that complements not one piece of a wardrobe but many. Teresa’s stoneware beads in organic shapes and colors are individually hand sculpted from clay.  The raw clay beads are dipped or painted with glaze and then fired in a high temperature kiln.  Her stoneware beads are known for the soft hues that are the fruition of this process.  Other beads are gathered from around the world. Czech, African, Indian, Indonesian, and Chinese glass and stones are imported for use in her jewelry.  Carved bone beads come from India. The dusty hues of the bone beads are achieved by Teresa mixing colors and dying them in her studio.

Here are some easy ways to use Teresa’s fun pieces that will surely give your outfits a stylish pop.  We have paired necklace #311 from the Madrigal Collection with Oh My Gauze’s Abby Blouse in Ice.

The Tale of Three Travelers

Sun Bound Sally . Executive Ellie.  Tuscan Touring Tess

One upon a time there were three travelers, each with a unique destination and each with a strong desire to pack effectively.

Sun Bound Sally is thrilled to be visiting the beaches of Mexico but a bit frustrated by how to pack for the wide range of activities she’s planned.  her bed is piled high with wardrobe possibilities yet she’s disheartened with her choices.  Taking a quick break from the chaos in her bedroom, she visits her favorite website  fawbushs.com  within moments her mind has cleared and she has found outfit clarity. The highlights of her suitcase include: the Dart Pant from Oh My Gauze is a cotton gauze pant with a tapered ankle and side pockets.  It pairs perfectly with the Oh My Gauze Abby Top done in a gorgeous color reminiscent of the sea.  To these she will add the Oh My Gauze Lorraine Top in an eye catching coral.  The Brad Vest is a stylish topper that gives both outfits a polished look and best yet, it doubles as a beach cover up.  Finally for fiesta night in town she will dance the night away in the Luna Luz  Off Shoulder Tank Dress.

Executive Ellie has just received word that she’s off to Chicago for a business seminar.  Knowing she would ultimately like to bring a single carry-on fills her with dread.  How can she transition from day to night and still maintain a professional look? what garments can emerge from a suitcase as crisp and fresh as when they went in? It was all too overwhelming for the usually effervescent Ellie.  Sensing her dour mood Ellie’s coworker Connie shared the secret of her own chic styling.  fawbushs.com.  Coworker Connie let Ellie know that her travel woes would come to an end with the help of one fabulous designer; Babette.  Fawbush’s has carried Babette’s gorgeous, travel friendly clothes for years. In fact they carry “Babette Basics”, the most popular items in her collections, on a year round basis.  By choosing five simple pieces from Babette Basics Ellie can mix and match endlessly, and always look fresh and professional.  She has chosen the City Pant in black, the Bi-level Mesh Tank and the A-line Jacket in black.  This combined with the Water Combo Skirt and Corset Pleat Shirt in cream gives her a plethora of possibilities.

Tess opened the last of her 50th birthday gifts; to discover details of a three week tour through Tuscany.  A trip of a lifetime to be shared with her doting husband.  The tears in her eyes were very real but only she knew the true source, what on earth would she pack?  When the excitement died down she knew where she could get some much needed guidance.  1-855-FAWBUSH where there is always a knowledgeable voice of fashion on the line.

Tess was reassured after speaking with the girls at Fawbush’s, she realized she would need a weather resistant traveling jacket, and they carried the ideal one.  The Toscana Jacket from Blanque.  Even the name was perfect! She added a hard working Ankle Pant from Eleven Stitch Design and a matching easy to care for linen outfit from Flax. Finally for those special nights on the piazza the Carol Tunic from Comfy USA provides that colorful Tuscan touch.

Meet the Fawbush’s

Fawbush’s, outfitting the sophisticated woman since 1975. Lee and Ginny Fawbush opened their first store in the sleepy little town of Owatonna, Minnesota and made their way to the bigFawbush's city of Minneapolis and into the Galleria in Edina in 1991. After thirty successful years of bringing unique and high quality styles to women of the upper Midwest, Lee and Ginny began to contemplate life at a slower pace in Naples, Florida.

Unbeknownst to them, young life insurance agent David Rutt was on the lookout for a new business opportunity. After ruling out a venture in a restaurant and consignment store, he was put in touch with the Fawbush’s. Dave was interested in buying a business with “a good past, a good future and one that I can work to keep running.” With financial support from his wife Charlene, Dave shadowed Lee for an entire year in order to learn the ins and outs of running a women’s clothing store. In 2004 the keys to a new chapter were transferred from one owner to another.
